#1-Ahhh...65 degrees and no wind...you know what that means in the Winterholler/Stott families!
GOLF!
We played our first round of golf in way too long on Saturday, and it felt so good! Neither of us played our best, but it was fun nonetheless. Cody played great, as always, even though he had to spend most of his time coaching me! He is sooo good at helping me improve, and I hope to get better by the day! We have decided to purchase a season pass at Lake Hills in Billings for the summer, so you Montana folks get ready!
#2-YESSS! We are off to:
NEW YORK!
We are flying out on April 27 and coming back on May 2! We can't wait! As well as site-seeing, we are going to go to:
WICKED
LION KING
and...
YANKEES GAME!
We can't wait for our big vacation, and if any of you have been there and have tips on what else we ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO SEE....let us know! SOON!
#3-Okay, here is the 'OW!" part...I have some sad news. I have been training 6 days/week for my 10k coming up, and I am loving every minute of it! Well, I WAS loving every minute of it until about 1 month ago. My knee started to hurt to the point that I wanted to stop in the middle of my runs. Long story short, I started taking glucosamine chondroitin, (aka a supplement to promote joint flexibility) around that time. My knee felt better for a couple weeks, but recently as Katie and I were on our longest run ever, 4 miles (woo-hoo!) I HAD to stop. Sad, sad day. I came home balling, and decided I needed to go to the doctor. I just returned and my doctor let me know that I have Patellofemoral pain syndrome or 'runners knee'. (aka NOT FUN!) This, although not the best animation, is pretty much how to describe the feeling:
To break this down, it is basically an irritation of the undersurface of the kneecap, which is supposed to be smooth, and mine is not. From what I have found on it, it is one of the most misunderstood knee problems. The only thing that I can do to get better is to rest and do stretches. He said that I can also train on a bike and swimming, which, to say the least, don't really excite me. I can't even do BOB!!! How do I live without my biggest loser workout? Anyway, enough crying, more do something about it. I still plan on running my 10k (don't worry Carrie) as long as I can get on track and trained prior to the big day! Until next time, please read again, I promise not to pout as much!
